"November Rain" Chapter four.....

IO visits the crime scene...Ashley's residence for investigation....

‘Is this Sammy in the picture?’ the lady officer asks Ashley as she points towards the picture lying on the table.

‘Yes, of course, that’s him,’

‘Young man will be agonized to know what happened here. I am sure about it. You both make a beautiful couple,’ she said with a sad tone in her voice.

‘He doesn’t need to know the gruesome detail. It will sound chilly and unpleasant to him. He will get upset. I don’t want to hurt him,’

‘Oh…I didn’t ask you. We will need your statement to proceed on this case. Of course, it will be hard and bitter for him to sit through the statement. Even difficult to digest it,’ IO said as she agreed.

‘Can you wait for the statement? I am not in a position to give it now,’

‘Yes, Madam, we will do it. I was only mentioning about the full statement. You have to come along with us for medical to collect as much DNA evidence available,’

‘Oh, all right,’ I said lazily.

‘I’m waiting for team of forensics to come and collect evidence from the room. After that we can go to the hospital and then later to my office for the statement,’ IO advised.

‘Whoa! It certainly looks like a long busy day for me,’ I said in disappointment flapping my hands.

IO walked around the house cautiously to inspect things which may catch her attention. She watched the main crime scene, which was my bed, from the door of bedroom itself without entering it. She stood there for a quick glance like studying the room or something. Perhaps she wanted to avoid any direct contact with the evidence which may be vital for the case. Whatever evidence available would be crucial for the investigation. The big foot marks with traces of mud were visible on the carpet in the living room and the bedroom. The house was not ransacked but she noticed the beer bottle lying on the bedroom floor.

‘The room with the balcony is not occupied and the way to your bedroom goes from living room,’

‘Yes…..’

‘Your bedroom seems to be in the corner, kind of disconnected from the house. I can notice that there is a shaft in the bedroom. It kind of hampers the voice, isn’t it? Nobody could have heard you even if you tried to scream. Since it was heavy downpour last night, absence of Mrs Kapoor made it easy for the man, I guess,’

‘hmm….you are right. But the knife anyway made it difficult for me to make a full blow,’

‘The beer bottle is on the floor. Did you try to use it on him?’

‘No, he took it from the refrigerator for himself,’

‘What did you say? He roamed around the house!’ she looked amazed.
