Ashley goes for post rape medical tests.....

The nurse stopped in the doorway as she held a pan of hot water, soap and a towel.
The doctor followed her and came straight to us accompanying Ajay. The nurse entered the adjacent room meant for the examination of sexual assault victims as Savita hovered around the room.

‘This is Dr Madhu, part of our forensic team,’ Ajay said as he introduced her to me.
‘Doctor, are you sure that we can nail him with DNA?’ I asked her in a low voice. She noticed my nervousness.
‘That’s what we have to find out Ashley. We need to tighten the case by accumulating all the legal evidences against him. But first we have to catch him. Isn’t it Savita?’ Doctor said while she looked busy talking to the Constable.
‘Pardon me. What did you say?’ Savita said while her face looked strained.
‘You need to get this man off the street as quickly as possible,’
‘Of Course, we have to. There is no way we are going to leave him,’ Savita nodded.
‘See Ashley, we have to take the physical evidence like sperm cells and semen. Other evidence may be obtained from your fingernail scrapings or any other foreign matter on your body. We also need to take the clothes you were wearing at the time of the assault. You are free to ask any questions or refuse any examination whenever you want,’ Doctor Madhu explained to me in detail.
‘I don’t think that I am in a position to refuse anything unless it’s more disgusting than a rape. I’m very tired and want to go home,’
‘We know you are tired and have been through a lot. We are going to free you within few minutes. It will not take much time. I assure you,’ Dr Madhu convinced me.
Swab samples were collected from my body, from areas where the wicked is believed to have come into contact. It was crucial to collect the perpetrator’s DNA as early as possible to increase the chances of his identification. What came next was nothing less than a torture and an awful question.
I wish I could hide behind hidden secret doors.
